Maybe The Heart Is A Waffle

What is it about a good meal! It never fails to make your day.

Food can never disappoint (me). If there’s anything in the world that deserves my unwavering attention, it is food. The sight of fresh produce at the grocery store, the lavish spread at a Sunday brunch, everyday affairs with pickles, olives, jams, tarts, muffins, the magic of anything chocolate with a chardonnay, fiery tempura, crispy hot wings, calamari and chips, some cheddar with a ginormous steak, dumplings and chunks of blue cheese with a fancy  shiraz, oh I could go on and on – endless possibilities, all that make my heart a gooey mess and if love is a feeling, I know it is this, it is this!

Melodrama aside, since a very long time I wanted to do a food inspired series for the blog and voila! Here is the first batch in a series of many. At the start, I would like to thank all the amazing illustrators whose artwork I’ve used for my words and I apologise for failing to individually credit their respective work on account of my laziness. Also, thank you Ma for brainstorming what I think were at least a million ideas with me, your contributions are the best of the lot. Here’s to the love of food.

  2. I love the Linda Goodman reference! I love her work, but I just thought it was us “older folks” that were familiar with it.

    1. I was the kinda girl who carried Linda Goodman to school. At some point, I think I could have qualified as a zodiac expert. 😀 Thank you for reading Penny, it’s always good to hear from you. How’s your story coming?

      1. My story is coming along. I work full time so I don’t always have the time to devote to writing that I would like to. I don’t know how some people do it! How about you?

      2. Oh I can imagine, such is life! I have to get back to my books as well but I keep delaying it and the blog is a huge distraction. But yes some people juggle so many things, that too brilliantly. Looking forward to read your story, Penny. Waiting, anticipating. 🙂
