Vestiges

Back in the days of
demented youth
were you high on dreams
did you sleep
with a radioactive heart
pumping fireflies in your veins
till you could feel the stars
swarming in your eyes
making you dizzy
all the light
did you let it go
one day
did you set it free
are you sober now
just another forced fire.

    1. Hello B. So good to hear from you! I’ve been on a technology-break (don’t know what else to call it) since January, missed you immensely. Thank you for stopping by. Since I’m no longer on facebook, I’ll be sure to email you soon. Hope all’s well at your end. Thinking of you always. 🙂

      1. It is amazing to hear from you too. You have been missed as well. I understand the urge of breaking away from it all. I haven’t been around much at all either. It is interesting to note that we come back to WP around the same time ❤ Can't wait to read more of you, poetry and e-mails ❤ Much love, Always ❤

      2. Yes, I tend to hibernate in winter, socially as well. But now I’m slowly thawing my bones and getting back to it all. We have a strong telepathic connection and I couldn’t be happier about it. Will stop by and read some of you soon. Lots of love.

  1. Wow!
The nostalgia of remembering the idealistic nature of youth, so open to the world, so trusting of all things. IF we can just hang onto those feelings forever….

    1. Yes, it is the best of times and it is the worst of times. I miss that sense of carefree abandon when nothing but the heart ruled all matters of life. Thank you for the lovely comment, have a great day! 🙂

  2. Change doesn’t always have to be pleasant. Read aloud, the words “jazz poem” came into my head, the alternating line lengths. Subjective of me perhaps, but no doubt this is a fine poem.

Thank you for liking my Health Center poem!

    1. As long as you like it, I’m fine with whatever terminology. I try not to impose the restrictions of syllable, verse and rhyme on the pen when I write. That said, those who do are certainly very talented because boy is that tough! Have a great day Sir. 🙂
